Christmas Holiday Wishes

The U.S. is now in its fifth year of an economic downturn, a situation that has refocused folks during this season to less commercial activity and a bit more faith based interaction.  Its subtle, meanwhile the political correctness crowd, mass media and the Intolerants have noisily drilled abused and attacked the very principles of human conduct that has made respectful cooperation possible and lift mankind out barbarity.

Do unto others as you would have done to you – is a creed of human conduct that has enabled a historical high for civilization.  There are other kinds of human behaviors that have aided civilization as well, but a close inspection may well show their success has in a major way a foundation in – Do unto others as you would have done to you.  The principal has its roots in a wide range of world cultures and is a part of almost all religions.

The wish for all the readers here is to adopt the spirit of the Christian faith, Christian or not, to tolerate, accept and treat those who are different in a way one might find acceptable in return.

For those Intolerants, political correctness crowd folks and the mass media you will find yourselves tolerated, accepted and treated with the respect due to any person.  But don’t be thinking you are superior.  History is replete with examples of extremes, political idealists, supremacists and other oddballs crashing into the garbage bins of history.

The second wish for today is for those who choose to attack others in support of their ideals – May you see fit to raise your thoughts and conduct to the level of the Christian creed to do unto others as you would have done to you. Perhaps then your ideas might survive.

A modicum of reason should make clear that a rule of equivalency in treating others by others among intelligent beings is the highest standard yet seen in history.  Everything else seen so far is inferior.

For Christians the holiday is Merry and the wish is so given, for everyone else a wish for a Happy Holiday, courtesy of the Christians.
