It’s the Fourth of July, the holiday that marks the Declaration of Independence of our country from its colonial master – a king.

A couple wars were fought.  An agreement was made to form a country and government.  The principle was and is that the persons making up the citizenry were the sovereigns – each his own ‘royal’ person.

For your humble writer that principle hasn’t changed.  But many, perhaps most of us think its just fine to transfer some our sovereign rights and responsibilities to the government.  Each of us an independent sovereign is no more.  Much has slipped away as we look to the group – a government to solve problems: national, community and personal.

So while you still can, celebrate what is left.  All of you, the kings and queens, princes and princesses of America are becoming smaller and weaker with each government program.

There isn’t so much left of what God gave us – our own free will.

Thank you for ‘getting it’. There are other sites I have visited with a ‘tech’ orientation, that think everything is just dandy, rosy peachy.

It’s refreshing to see realists speaking out.
